A. Cleansing is one of the most important steps to beautiful skin. It MUST be cleaned properly twice a day. Apply a cleanser for your skin type. Remove with a clean washcloth and splash your face 10 times. Your skin will be totally clean. Follow with toner, moisturizer and always an eye cream.
Q. How does Vitamin C work on the skin and what will it do?
Q. How is it different from Glycolic Acid.A. Vitamin C stimulates and maintains collagen. It also prevents damage from free radicals, which damage DNA.
A. Glycolic helps stimulate collagen and reverse sun damage. They are completely different substances chemically.
Q. How exactly does Glycolic Acid work?
A. Glycolic Acid dissolves glue like substance in the stratum corneum (the upper layer of the skin). This dissolving causes already dead skin cells to slough off the surface more quickly that usual. This increases cell turn over. As a result you have a more youthful skin.&
Q. How often should I exfoliate?
A. That depends on skin type. For dry and normal skin, twice a week is usually enough. Oily skin I recommend about four times a week. Remember not to scrub to hard or you can irritate your skin.
Q. What is the best way to get rid of blackheads?
A. Blackheads are a build up of sebum. Sometimes cleaning is not enough. You may need the help of a professional Esthetician (Facialist). They can gently extract the skin to get rid of blackheads and other blemishes. If you must extract them yourself always work with clean tissue wrapped fingers.
